Oakley's sunglass business is going digital. The latest addition to the company's line of digital music eyewear is the Split THUMP. This product has an MP3 music player built into the frame of the sunglasses. You can control the music with buttons that blend into the frame's own accents. The glasses are based on Oakley's popular Square O lifestyle sweat-resistant frames. There are no wires. The Split THUMP is compatible with the iTunes Plus Music Store, and it can play Audible.com audiobooks and music files in the AAC, MP3, WMA, WMA with DRM 9.0 and WAV formats. But it can't play songs in Apple's protected AAC content. The follow-up to the THUMP Pro can store up to 480 songs on a 2-gigabyte version, 240 songs on the 1GB, or 120 songs on the 512-megabyte version. It can get up to eight hours of playback on one charge.
